At Hand Made Books we make a lot of books to order - they do make for a unique, affordable, utterly postable and practical gift - what more could you need?!
So you have a few design decisions to make - any problems? Just let us know and we can help you out... Here goes...
Step One: Which size?
So first you need to choose which size book you would like - our three standard sizes are:
- Small -A7 landscape - 74mm x 105mm
- Medium -A6 Portrait - 148mm x 105mm
- Large -A7 Landscape - 148mm x 210mm
- (We can make non standard sizes too - just get in touch with your requirements)
Step Two: Which Paper?
- Next you need to decide which paper to put inside - have a look at our Paper Info page for help deciding - and we have really cute sample books too if you would like a closer inspection - just drop us a line and we can put one in the post for you...
Now you get to think about what to put on the cover
- Maps? Comics? Indentures?
- Its up to you - and if you have something you would like put on the cover of a book - just pop it in the post to and we can use that to make your book.
Step Four: Which Spine?
Nearly there! Now you can choose the colour of the bookcloth for your spine - or you can leave that up to us, to coordinate with the cover you have chosen.
- How about black, red, green (dark or light?), leopard print, blue… the choice is up to you… (or us, if you prefer!)
Step Five: Lettering?
So the last decision is if you would like some lettering on the spine?
- Maybe the lucky recipients name? Or how about your name so they won't forget who got them this gorgeous notebook?
- The spine of the Small notebooks can only take about one word, but the Medium and Large notebooks can fit two to three words...
- The lettering can be done in a traditional Times New Roman typeface or a more modern Gill Sans.
- And the colours it can be can be done in are gold, silver, black, red or green.
So that's it! You have now designed your notebook - and all that remains is to let us know so we can get it made just for you in super quick time - perfect!
